About STEM STM Training
STEM STM Training exists to provide relevant training, consulting, and speaking aimed at empowering churches and other sending entities to achieve maximum impact in their short-term mission programs.
We recognize that many churches and organizations are already doing a great job at short-term mission — but still have some nagging questions about how to improve their efforts. Using customized and engaging training events, consulting, and speaking opportunities, STEM’s heart is to take what God has shown us since we began in 1984, and “re-package” the crucial elements into bite-sized, affordable opportunities for thousands of other churches, organizations, and sending entities that want to continually train their leaders in effective short-term mission.
STEM STM Training Staff
Our STM (short-term mission) Training Staff is headed up by STEM Founder and CEO, Roger Peterson (see Roger’s bio). Roger’s cutting-edge books and articles, along with a vibrant teaching style, make him a popular speaker for Christian media, colleges, conferences, and national events. Roger also co-led the efforts to help found the SOE — the U.S. Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Mission, in addition to leadership efforts for many other national training and equipping events.
Roger is an adept, methodical, first-rate instructor who connects well with varying cultures and ages, and does so with authentic sincerity and ease.
As an inspiring, challenging, and culturally relevant teacher, he also serves as Adjunct Professor (of Christian Short-Term Missions) at Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota, and is a rostered and active Instructor for “Perspectives on the World Christian Movement” (lessons #5 Unleashing the Gospel and #9The Task Remaining).
